qARTA X-Gal and IPTG Spray lets you do Blue-White colony screening without all the hassle. You won't need to weigh X-Gal or IPTG. You won't need to measure DMSO or DMF.


Simply, spray directly onto agar plates containing the appropriate antibiotics during and your Blue-White screening is ready to go.

Recommended Protocol

Recommended Usage Protocol:

Protocol
1 Spray about 200μL (3-4 sprays) directly onto each agar plate containing the appropriate antibiotics. This is equivalent to about 1.3 mg each of X-Gal and IPTG per plate.
2 Let the plates dry. Do not lid the plates until they are completely dry and no X-Gal/IPTG solution is visible. If plates are freshly made, it may take up to 15 minutes for them to dry. Otherwise, they may dry in less than 5 minutes.

Since our X-gal / IPTG Spray is completely non-toxic and free of both DMSO and DMF, it is not necessary to use a fume hood. However, a hood may expedite the drying step.
3 You may now use the plates for blue-white colony screening or the dried plates can be stored at 4°C for later use.
